Since there will be parent/teacher conferences next week, there will be no Buffalo Fun Club October 17th - 20th. BFC will start back up the following Monday on October 24th.

Congratulations to the cross country team! They competed in the TVL meet yesterday in Centralia and did outstanding, despite the less than ideal running conditions. On the girls side, junior Maria Krohn finished 26th overall among the runners from the 13 league schools competing. On the boys side, seniors Tyree Figge and Corbin Kolterman set the pace, finishing 15th and 16th, respectively. Senior Wyatt Pennington finished 29th, junior Gavin Goodrum 33rd, and senior Payton Falk 35th.
With all of the boys placing that high, the boys team took home 3rd place in the 13-team event!
Congratulations once again to our Buffalo runners, and good luck at the Jackson Heights meet on Tuesday, and at regionals in Centralia next Saturday!

Ms. Schuman is the new counselor at USD 322 this year, but she also teaches a couple of classes. For the last day of SEL for the quarter, her first group of 8th graders got to take a short field trip to the Coffee Barn!
Thank you Ms. Schuman for all you do for our kids!

Mrs. McNally's 3rd graders have been busy this first nine weeks, learning in many different areas! They have become cursive writers and readers, and will be writing their spelling words in cursive soon! They have learned that scientists classify extinct animals, like dinosaurs, by using animals of today and seeing what is alike and what is different. They have spent quite a bit of time discussing our community in social studies. Since they have been discussing our communities, they decided to visit our museum to learn about our community from years ago. These pictures are from their visit to the Onaga Museum and from their visit to Havensville Living History Day.
Thank you Mrs. McNally for the learning diversity you bring to your classroom!

Looking for a scary trail? Bring your friends and family to the Haunted Trail hosted by the USD 322 Music Department and Wildlife Science Students.

The high school volleyball team has its last regular season games tonight when the Buffaloes host Centralia, Frankfort, and Clifton-Clyde in their final quad. Action kicks off at 4:00pm when the c-team takes on Frankfort on Court #2. The JV will be in the south gym all night with games at 5:00pm, 6:00pm, and 7:00pm. Meanwhile, the varsity team will be on Court #1 all night with games at 5:00pm, 7:00pm, and 8:00pm.
There's plenty of reason to get out to the gym tonight as not only are the girls wrapping up one of the more successful season's in recent memory, but it's also Senior Night for both them and the cross country team. The two teams will have their senior and parent recognition after the 6:00pm games have concluded, which should be around 6:45pm. Also, the Historical Society will have quite the spread put out for those in attendance as they run the concession stand tonight. The regular food will be on the menu, but several additions will be served as well, a list for which can be found on the attached photo.
So come out tonight and have a great meal, help us recognize four years of dedication to Onaga athletics from our seniors and their parents, and cheer on the girls as they look to finish up their season with a bang!
Good luck tonight ladies, GO BUFFALOES!!!

The high school volleyball team has a full week ahead of them with Senior Night in Onaga on Tuesday, and the league tournament in Onaga on Saturday. They will play host to the JV squads of Centralia, Jackson Heights, and Nemaha Central with games kicking off at 5:00pm, all in the north gym.
Good luck tonight ladies, GO BUFFALOES!!!

Due to the large number of injuries to our high school football players, tomorrow night's JV game against Christ Prep has been cancelled.

Due to low player numbers and a high number of injuries at this time, the junior high football game scheduled against Frankfort on Thursday, October 13th, has been cancelled. The decision was made in the interest of the safety of our players. Thank you all for your support of the team during the season.

It may be the weekend but Onaga athletics is in full swing today. The junior high volleyball team is in Frankfort, currently taking on Troy in the Oregon Trail League tournament. Meanwhile, the high school football team is on the road this afternoon taking on Christ Prep. If you're heading to Lenexa to watch the football team, as always, you can find the address to the field on the sports schedules page under the Athletics tab on the district website.
Good luck to all of our Buffalo student-athletes today, GO BUFFALOES!!!

Ms. Kolterman's 5th graders have been studying mixtures and solutions in science. Yesterday they were presented with the challenge of finding something in nature that would completely dissolve into water, and therefore make a solution. Their focus question was “Are there materials outdoors that will dissolve in water?”
Thank you Ms. Kolterman for your innovative ideas in (and out) of the classroom!
