The baseball and softball teams hit the road this afternoon for non-league games against Wabaunsee.
The softball team is coming off a sweep against Doniphan West and enters with a 2-0 record against the Chargers. Wabaunsee enters 0-1 after they lost their season opener to Burlingame, then had their second game called in the 3rd inning due to light issues. For the baseball team this will be their season opener, while the Chargers enter with a 2-0 record after sweeping Burlingame on Tuesday. First pitch for both the baseball and softball teams is set for 4:30pm.
If you aren't able to make the games tonight you can follow along on the Game Changer Team Manager app. To check out rosters, look at stats, and follow results throughout the season for either team, head over to each team's respective page on the school website, links for which can be found below.
Good luck to both teams tonight, GO BUFFALOES!!!

Grades 2-6 worked on Spikeball before break during P.E. class. Grades 4-6 had a round robin tournament with each class having two winners. The 4th grade winners were Autumn Pultz and Cyrus Jones, 5th grade winners were Blaine Blaske and Carter Hutfles, 6th grade winners were Camden Fordham and Ryder Kolterman.

Though the weather may not agree, it's spring time and that means the sound of clinking bats and smell of Lion's Club cheeseburgers. You'll get both this afternoon out at the softball field as the team gets set for its season opener against Doniphan West this afternoon at 4:30pm. The Buffaloes and Mustangs will play a double-header with a short break in between games, so head out to the ball field, bundle up, and watch the girls shoot for a 2-0 start to the season.
Good luck today girls, GO BUFFALOES!!!

Mrs. Huerter’s class just finished up a novel study on the book "Holes," by Louis Sachar. For the completion of the unit, her class watched the movie to compare to the book. In the story the characters had to live off onions and sploosh, which is 100-year old, spiced peaches. In honor of the food, Sam Miller brought cake pops that looked like onions, and Mrs. Huerter brought onion rings and peach pop. They also created detailed art to commemorate the setting of the story.
A great project and great way to bring something from the book to life!

Another early morning Saturday in the books for the forensics team! Last weekend sophomore Wyatt Boggs was the only member of our team to perform, but did an outstanding job with his informative speech. He did not break into the finals, but his overall best for the day was a 2nd place in the third round! Way to go, Wyatt!

Mrs. Becker's art classes have been doing, and plan to do more, collaborative lessons with students in other academic areas. Mr. Baxter was kind enough to let this begin with his math students students, the results for which you can see in these pictures.
Great work Mrs. Becker and Mr. Baxter!
