Ms. Kolterman’s 6th Grade science classes have been busy preparing and presenting their final projects. The project consisted of students picking a science topic they are interested in, then creating a lesson for their class. The lesson had to include a teaching portion, a hands-on activity, and an assessment of knowledge gained. The students went above and beyond choosing topics that ranged from the cardiovascular system, to how music affects the brain, to the digestive system of a horse. Great job 6th grade!

USD 322’s "Kansas Hunter Education in our Schools Program" is a part of Mrs. Thomas's junior high OREO class. This year's program was wildly successful, is it graduated 31 7th and 8th grade students with their hunter education certificates. Those certifications are good for life for all of the students. Congratulations to the students who completed the program, and thanks to Mrs. Thomas for yet another innovative idea to get our students hands-on life lessons that will benefit them for years to come!

Last Friday, the O'Club got to enjoy a day of fun as a reward for the hard work they've put in this year towards Onaga athletics. The group decided on Main Event in Olathe as their destination, and ended the day with a little time spent at Legends in Kansas City. It was a great day had by a great group of kids that sacrifice a lot of time for Onaga athletics!

It's another full day of Onaga athletics, with four teams competing this afternoon. The junior high and high school track teams are both on the road today. The junior high team is in Frankfort for the OTL meet, their final one of the season. Running events are just now underway as they look to finish their seasons strong. The high school team is at Valley Heights today and field events began just 15 minutes ago. For the varsity, it's their final competition before TVL next Thursday, while the JV has a home meet on Monday before league competition. Meanwhile, the baseball and softball teams are both at home hosting Valley Falls. The softball team enters at 8-8 on the season, looking to move up in the regional standings where they currently sit at 5th place. They'll look to do so against a 9-9 Dragons team with the first pitch of the double-header set for 4:30pm. The baseball team enters with a record of 13-3 and a state ranking of 6th, as they take on a 14-4 Valley Falls squad in a double-header that will likely determine which of the two teams gets the #1 seed at regionals in 11 days. First pitch for them is also set for 4:30pm, and the games will be broadcasted and livestreamed by KNZA. You can find it on your FM radio dial at 103.9, or listen on their website at maindigitalstream.com.
