The All-State softball teams were announced yesterday, after being voted on by Kansas coaches. In the 2-1A division, Onaga's Bridgett Campbell finds herself on the list, making the 2nd Team as a pitcher.
Bridgett started 11 games this season and finished with a 7-2 overall record. She led the team with a 2.23 ERA, struck out 90 batters, and walked just 27. She also led the team with a 1.207 WHIP, a key pitching statistic, and allowed an opponent batting average of just .190. The All-State designation is the first of her career, but with one year left of softball at Onaga, it certainly shouldn't be the last.
Congratulations on your All-State honor Bridgett, we look forward to seeing you and the rest of the lady Buffalo softball team go even further next season! GO BUFFALOES!!!

With postseason baseball complete, the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches released its All-State teams. Four Buffaloes earned spots on the list after their 15-5 season.
Junior Jackson Kolterman earned 1st Team All-State, the third All-State honor of his career. He earned Honorable Mention as a freshman from Sports in Kansas, then was named 2nd Team All-State last year by the KABC. He becomes the third player in the four year history of the program to earn 1st Team honors, joining Zac Fisher and Colby Simkins who earned the honor last season. He also was named 1st Team All-League last week for the third time in a row.
Senior Rayce Fisher was named 2nd Team All-State as a third baseman, the first All-State honors of his career. He also earned 1st Team All-League honors last week for the first time after a breakout senior season.
Fellow senior Hunter Lamond also earned his first All-State honors, being named to the 3rd Team as an outfielder. Along with Rayce, he was named 1st Team All-League last week for the first time.
Joining Hunter on the 3rd Team is Xavier Berges. The designated hitter becomes the first freshman to ever be named to the KABC All-State teams in school history. He was also one of only two freshmen in the state to be named All-State in 2-1A.
