The OHS Scholars Bowl teams began their competitions this week. On Monday the varsity travelled to Nemaha Central and participated in a meet with mostly bigger schools. The team went 4-3 for the night, with the top scorers of the evening being junior Brayden Poell with 12 correct answers, and junior Carmella Garcia-Losadac with 7 correct answers.
On Tuesday night the JV travelled to Linn to participate in an 11-team round robin tournament. The team was a bit shy out of the gate, but came back to end 5-5 for the evening. Top scorers for the evening were sophomore Adalei Conley and freshman Andi Wegman who both had 13 correct answers, while sophomore Xavier Berges was close behind with 12 correct questions.
It was a great first week for the team!

Mrs. Claycamp’s journalism students recently spent a day selling ads for this year’s yearbook. These ads are a great way for businesses to advertise, and help cover the cost of production of the yearbook so that the entire expense is not put on the students.

Congratulations to Annie Force! The senior for the high school volleyball team earned 2nd Team All-League honors this year, as announced by the Twin Valley League this week.
The outside hitter was one of the best all-around players for the Buffaloes in 2024, finishing in the top three in almost every category. Her serve receive rating of 1.96 was far and away the best on the team, despite having over 100 more serves received than any other player on the team. Even while leading the team in serves received, she still managed to finish third in kills with 127 on the season. As a server, she finished second on the team in both aces and serve rating, while finishing third in serve percentage.
Congratulations on a great season Annie, and on your All-League designation! We look forward to seeing you continue to succeed in the future!
Fall sports have officially wrapped up, making it a fairly quiet week at USD 322 for activities. High school scholars bowl kicks off this week, and the junior high wrestling team looks to build on a very successful opening weekend. Here are the activities scheduled for the week!

High school football playoffs begin this week, and the first winter sports event is set for this weekend. Here are the scheduled activities for the week!

The cross country team is in Sabetha this morning gearing up for the postseason, with their regional meet starting in less than an hour. The girls meet will begin at 11:00am, and the Onaga boys will be running theirs right after that around 11:45am. A top 4 team finish will send the entire team to state, or a top 15 individual finish would send a runner to state.

The KSHSAA Football Playoff Bracket is set!
The high school volleyball team is two games away from heading to state, as it heads to Centralia today for the sub-state tournament. Games get underway at 2:00 with top seeded Centralia taking on Blue Valley, then the Buffaloes will be taking on Rural Vista after that around 3:00pm. The winners of those two games will play the final match of the day in the championship game, with the winner punching their ticket to the state tournament in Dodge City.

It's the final game of the regular season for the high school football team tonight, and with it being a home game that means it's also Senior Night. We'll honor our five seniors tonight before the game and thank them for their years of dedication to Onaga football, then the boys will kick off against McLouth at 7:00pm. It's also a district game with postseason seeding on the line, which will determine who the Buffaloes play next week in the first round of the playoffs.
It's perfect football weather outside, postseason implications are on the line, and we say thank you to five great seniors tonight. So come out, BE LOUD, and cheer on the football team tonight! GO BUFFALOES!!!
