This basketball season, in an attempt to get a more rowdy crowd, sponsors are giving free popcorn to every Onaga student that attends junior high or high school home games and cheers in the student section. Sponsorships are only $20 for each game, and over half of the home games this season are already covered by individuals and businesses.
A loud, engaged crowd is a huge difference maker for our Buffalo teams in all sports. In addition to helping our student-athletes, your name or business will be featured on the new digital scorer's table for the game that you sponsor.

The junior high wrestling team is on a short turnaround this morning, as it heads to Silver Lake just 48 hours after hosting their meet on Thursday night. Action gets underway at 8:15am this morning.

Rachel Leanard, Atalie Conger, Annie Force, Jaeden Abitz, Addison DeChant, Abbie Ringel, Cody Pennington, Lillie Weiser, and Jadyn Haskin travelled to Junction CIty High School Thursday, November 14 for the Area 3 Kansas Association for Youth conference. Lillie Weiser, nominated by Atalie Conger and Addison DeChant, competed against a record-setting 5 other candidates for the office of president of area 3, and won the election. She will serve for the next calendar year.

On Wednesday, our Juniors attended the career fair in Centralia. They were able to talk to representatives from different colleges and businesses to help them explore their options for life after high school. #postsecondarysuccess #careerfair
The junior high wrestling team is back in action today in a home meet. Wrestling got underway just minutes ago, as the team looks to continue their dominant start to the season. They've won over 75% of their matches as a team this season, and are coming off of a 1st place finish at the Rock Creek meet on Saturday. Come out today and check out the results of the hard work these kids have been putting in.

The holiday band concert has been moved from its original date on the printed calendar to December 12th. This will allow the most time to prepare the best possible show for you all! The start time will still be at 6:30.
With cold and flu season just around the corner, it's good to be prepared. Did you know our school can provide you with a free over-the-counter COVID test? Call our front office staff to request a box or two, and they'll be sent home in students' back packs or parents can come to the office to hand pick it up.

Xavier Berges and Lillie Weiser joined students from Holton at the Washburn University math competition Tuesday. Their team came out first in the 1A-2A category with Xavier earning the top score, Luke Lassey(Holton) came in second, and Lillie came in third! They had a fantastic day.

The junior high girls team got off to a great start tonight, knocking off Frankfort to begin the season and league play 1-0. They now get a week off before heading on the road for the first time this season, when they'll take on Doniphan West next Thursday.

Junior high basketball gets rolling tonight with a home game to open up the 2024-2025 season. They will be hosting OTL foe Frankfort this evening, with games getting underway at 4:45pm. Here is the schedule for the night:

Reminder, winter sports pictures will be taken tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon! Junior high basketball and wrestling will begin at 2:00pm, then at 3:30pm the high school basketball and wrestling will be taken.
Also, all school picture retakes will be taken tomorrow as well with those beginning at 10:00am. This will be the last opportunity for retakes so if you'd like those, please make sure to be prepared for those.
