It's a big week for activities with the junior high basketball teams kicking off their league tournament, high school scholars bowl competing in the league meet, and the high school's Winter Royalty. Here is the schedule for the upcoming week!

The high school girls wrapped up the TVL Tournament with a win over Frankfort this morning, knocking off the Wildcats on their home court. They'll now get ready for a home game against Wabaunsee on Tuesday, then for Winter Royalty on Friday against Clifton-Clyde. Congrats on the win girls! GO BUFFALOES!!! Yesterday it was the boys wrestling and basketball teams in action, today it's the girls turn. The girls wrestling team is in Council Grove today for their invitational, and wrestling got underway this morning at 9:00am. Meanwhile, the girls basketball team is in Frankfort for the final day of the TVL Tournament and are taking on the host Wildcats in the opening game of the day at 10:00am. The wrestling team has been in Council Grove the last two days, with the boys competing yesterday afternoon and the girls this morning. It was another successful day, with four Buffaloes coming away with top three finishes. The team now gets a week off before heading to Atchison next Saturday morning. Two high school teams are on the road today, as the boys wrestling and basketball teams end their week of events. The wrestlers are in Council Grove and got underway this afternoon. They will wrap things up today, then the girls will head there tomorrow for their meet which begins at 9:00am. The boys basketball team is at Frankfort today for their final game of the TVL Tournament. After beating Washington County 68-52 last night, they'll take on Valley Heights at 4:30pm this afternoon looking to win two in a row heading into the last half of their season. The girls are off today, but will finish up their tournament tomorrow morning at 10:00am against the host Wildcats. The high school boys knocked off Washington County in the consolation side of the TVL Tournament bracket this evening. It was a clean sweep tonight for the junior high basketball teams in their final road game of the season at Flint Hills Christian. They have one regular season game remaining, a home matchup against Sts. Peter & Paul next Monday. The OTL tournament then begins Thursday, January 30th. The junior high basketball teams are hitting the road for the final time this season, playing Flint Hills Christian in their final non-league game of the season as well. All games will be played in the same gym, with B-team boys kicking things off at 4:00pm, A-team girls to follow, and A-team boys to wrap up the night. Junior high basketball will play in Manhattan on Tuesday. JV boys will start at 4pm, followed by varsity girls then varsity boys.

It's an action-packed weekend for the high school teams, as all three hit the road today. The wrestling team is at St. Marys for a tournament that will host nearly 20 teams. Wrestling gets underway at 8:30am this morning. For the basketball teams, the TVL tournament kicks off today with Frankfort hosting this year's eight-day long event. The boys will play first today, entering the tournament as the #9 seed. They will take on #8 seed Doniphan West at 11:30am in the secondary gym. The girls will follow in the same gym around 1:00pm. The junior high boys basketball team knocked off previously undefeated Doniphan West tonight in back-and-forth game. They'll take their nine game winning streak on the road for the final time this season next Tuesday when they visit Flint Hills Christian in a non-league game. Congrats on the win boys! The high school basketball game postponed January 10th vs. Hanover has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 20th.

The junior high basketball teams are back on their home floor tonight, as they get set to host Doniphan West in a league matchup. Games get underway in the south gym at 5:30pm with two quarters of C-team boys, then at 6:00pm it will be A-team girls in the north gym and B-team boys in the south. Spirit Week is coming up at the end of the month to celebrate Winter Royalty at Onaga. The week begins January 27th, and culminates with the crowning of this year's king and queen after the basketball game on Friday when the Buffaloes host Clifton-Clyde. The cheer team is wanting to get the word out sooner on what the theme will be for each day of Spirit Week, so that everyone has time to get their ideas and outfits together. With that in mind, see the attached images for the planned themes for each day. The first list is for the high school, while the second one is for pre-K through 8th grades. Let the imagination begin as you start to put together your outfits for Spirit Week!

Hello everyone, Seedings and game times are finalized for the first round of the TVL Basketball Tournament. The girls will play at 1:00 pm this Saturday (1/18) against Valley Heights. The boys will play at 11:30 am on Saturday (1/18) against Doniphan West. If the teams win, they will play next Monday (1/20). If they lose, they will not play until next Thursday (1/23). All games will be played at Frankfort High School. Come out and support our teams as they compete in this tournament. Go Buffaloes!
