Good morning, fellow Buffaloes! Here are several important announcements that we wanted to share today with all parents and students. 1. Our district will have a virtual, remote learning option for those that are not comfortable sending their child back to school with the current COVID situation. Please note that in comparison to what we did last spring, this will have higher expectations, accountability, and students using this option would be a part of Zoom so they can participate live with the in person class going on in the school. More details to be announced in the future about this. 2. 6th grade band will no longer be mandatory. 3. The district has decided to no longer use The Leader in Me curriculum for social- emotional learning in the district. Instead, our counselors are working with the teachers to provide high quality, other SEL programs that teachers will research and choose for their different grade bands (PK-2, 3-5, 6-8,9-12). We are confident that we can successfully meet their SEL needs with different programs and approaches. Thank you and please keep safe!

Good morning! Enrollment is tomorrow, Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm. I know there are many questions about school starting and we will do our best to answer you, or to point you in the right direction for answers. Enrollment will be a tad different this year. Karen Utley, the grade school office manager, has moved to the previous office by the grade school doors. Those doors are open and you will be able to use them. Her office is just inside the doors on the left. All PreK-6 will need to go see Karen. All 7-12 grades will go see Gayla. There will be computers at each office to use in case you cannot enroll online at home. Any new students will need to come to enrollment, please bring birth certificate, social security card, immunization records. Mrs. Krause will be at the school if any high school student has questions about their schedule. High school schedules will be available in the office. If you have any questions, please email Karen at utleyk@usd322.org or Gayla at figgeg@usd322.org. Please practice social distancing while at enrollment, and if you are not feeling well or running a fever, please let us know and we will make other arrangements. Thank you!

Good afternoon- We wanted to reinforce to all all parents and staff members that we will be giving them information and be asking for their input on the 2020-2021 school year when we receive a clear directive or indication from the state of Kansas of when and how the school year is going to work and proceed. Like all of you, we are eager to complete our plans so that you and your families can plan too. We will keep you posted- thank you and please keep safe.

Please know that we are currently still learning about the state recommendations for a safe return to school and the many details that go along with planning for a return. Also, we will be gathering input from all parents and teachers in the near future to assist us in the decision making process. Thank you for understanding and patience as we put together a plan that best meets the safety and learning needs of all students during these unprecedented times. We are eager to resume school but have many details to work out still. As soon as plans are made, we will be communicating them out on a regular basis as quickly as possible so you have time to plan. We wanted to let you know that as of today, for returning students to USD 322, you may now begin online enrollment through Powerschool. You will need to use the same user name & password as last year to access it. Powerschool can be located on the district USD 322 website. If you are having issues accessing it, please email Gayla Figge, Michelle Krause or Karen Utley for assistance. If you have a student who is new to the district, please make plans to enroll in person on our enrollment day which is Tuesday, July 21, from 7am-7pm. OJH/OHS enrollment will occur inside the west main entrance and OGS enrollment will occur down in the elementary office area. The OGS elementary office has been moved to right inside the southwest elementary school entrance doors. The OGS elementary doors will be utilized for the 20-21 school year and elementary parents can use them on the 21st as well. Mrs. Krause will also be here for any new 7-12th grade students or returning students and will be able to assist on their schedules. All parents are also welcome to drop off the enrollment forms that were mailed home a few days ago as well as pay fees and/or outstanding balances as well on the 21st if they would like to do so. For parents of new students to the district, please be sure to bring immunization records, birth certificate, SSN card and a current physical if possible. We will need to practice social distancing of 6ft. within the school and we highly encourage parents to wear a mask while in the school on this day as well. Thank you and stay safe.

Here are some important reminders and information regarding graduation tomorrow- 1. The stage is at midfield where graduates will be seated and facing the crowd. We have painted the field where public seating is allowed- north of the white dotted line. Also the track, the hill, the stands, and the parking lot are available for seating too. Please bring your own seating unless you plan on sitting in the stands. Seating is first come first serve. 2. The gate to the football field parking lot will be opened at 7 am. Graduation begins at 9 am. 3. There is a chance for rain Saturday morning. If we need to have a rain delay, we will- we will do everything in our power to get graduation completed on Saturday. Unless the forecast is for unending rain on Sat, we will get it done. 4. We would like to remind everyone that the wearing of face masks and the practice of social distancing at least 6feet is strongly recommended at this time. 5. After the graduation ceremony is completed, we will not have a reception line. We ask everyone to please exit the stadium and meet your graduate at your family car or at home. Thank you for being a part of honoring our graduates on Saturday.
