We have an amazing custodial staff that maintains our school premises in sickness and in health (with a lot of sickness lately!) A huge thank you to Donald Pinick, Jeff Mapes, Marjorie Haynie, and Christopher May for keeping our school a clean and healthy space!

The OHS girls basketball team showed great toughness last night in Regionals at Doniphan West. They worked hard this season and continued to get better with every game. Congrats to our team and especially to our seniors, Kady Figge and Laura Krohn.

Last Saturday the OHS boys’ wrestlers traveled to Council Grove for Regionals. They wrestled hard and “punched their tickets” to State! We applaud our wrestlers for their hard work and wish them luck at State Wrestling in Hays this Friday and Saturday.

The high school basketball boys played and worked hard yesterday evening and throughout the season! Even though their record may not show it, they put all their effort into the season.

This Thursday and Friday, Morgan Mayginnes travels to Salina for the Girls State Wrestling Meet. Morgan placed 1st at Regionals and now she’s competing for her fourth Girls State Wrestling Championship. Good luck!!

The 6th grade class was asked to read a short story called “Names/ Nombres “, then write a paper and do an art project spelling their name in any material they chose. When you have a chance make sure to check them out in the Junior High hallway.

Are your little ones missing items of clothing? If so, come and take a look at our Lost and Found table. The table is located in the elementary school across from Mrs. Rempe’s room.

Onaga High Wrestlers competed well at the regional meet held at Council Grove on Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22. Moving on to the State meet held at Hays, Kansas on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, February 29 are Sophomore Rilyn Mayginnes who placed 4th in the 182 lb. class and Senior Vincent Lara who also placed 4th in the 285 lb. class.

Good luck to the OHS Wrestlers at Regional Wrestling in Council Grove today! First match starts at 2:00 today! Wrestling will continue tomorrow, starting at 10:00! GO BUFFS! WRESTLE STRONG!

If you are travelling to the regional basketball games on Monday and/or Tuesday, KSHSAA has the admission cost set at $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. No school or district passes can be used. GO BUFFS!!!!

Onaga High Basketball will enter into regional play next week with the following schedule: Monday, February 24 OHS Boys @ Centralia with a tip-off time of 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday, February 25 the OHS Girls will travel to Highland to take on Doniphan West. Tip off is 7:00 p.m.

We are conducting an MRA survey to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. The data from this survey will also help us track the impacts of the Leader in Me process and implement key practices more fully. In order for us to have a holistic picture of what is going on in our school, we are asking all full-time staff members, parents/guardians, and students in Grade 4 and up to participate. Parent Participation If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey (without sharing your name or other identifying information) that will be available through a Web link below. The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household. The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about his or her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child’s experiences as you answer questions related to his or her growth. The window for this survey is open until Monday, February 24th. Valerie, Norah, and Atalie had fun decorating and putting together a Valentine’s Day party for their preschool friends last Friday.

Admission to the Onaga vs Frankfort games tonight is free! The Frankfort Caring Community Foundation will be paying for everyone this evening. There will also be a Mexican Supper from 5:00-7:30 in the Frankfort High School Cafeteria.

Onaga Basketball will travel to Frankfort today. In the main gym, there will be 1/2 a JV Girls game played at 5:00 with the V Girls and V Boys to follow. At 5:45 there will be a full JV Boys game in the other gym.

Morgan Mayginnes took 1st at regional wrestling today with dominant performances on both days. Good luck at state, Morgan! We are proud of you!
