The junior high football team cruised to a 2-0 start with a shutout tonight at Doniphan West, notching their first league win along the way. They'll look to stay in the win column next Thursday when they head to Centralia for a league matchup with the Panthers.

After a two-day hiatus, Buffalo athletics are back in action this afternoon. The cross country team is on the road for their second meet of the season, as it heads to Washington. The meet gets rolling at 4:00pm, the girls will run first then the boys will finish it off.
The junior high is also on the road today with their first league game of the season against Doniphan West. The volleyball team starts at 4:00pm, with kickoff for the football team set for 6:30pm. All games will be played in Denton.

🍎🔬 Science Spotlight: First Grade Edition
Our Buffalo first graders kicked off the year as scientists with their very first experiment! They taste-tested apples for class favorites 🍏 and observed how air, water, vinegar, and lemon juice affected the apple slices.
Fun Fact: Apples turn brown when exposed to air, but lemon juice slows down the browning because of its vitamin C (ascorbic acid)! 🍋✨
Science is always sweeter when you can taste it—ask your first grader which apple was their favorite and which one surprised them the most! 🦬🧡

This school year, the Journalism class at Onaga High School plans to shine the spotlight on our current senior class of 2026, as well as alumni of OHS. Most weeks you can expect to see one of this year's seniors and get to see what their future plans are, some things they've enjoyed during their time at Onaga, as well as some advice for younger Buffaloes.
In addition to the seniors, the class also plans to also spotlight successful alumni from Onaga. You'll get a chance to see where they are today, what they are up to, and get some memories from their time at OHS as well.

🌟 Our Grandparent Lunch continues to grow each year, and it was such a special day! 🧡 Grandparents enjoyed being celebrated, and our students loved sharing lunch with some of their favorite people. 🦬 Thank you to everyone who joined us—you made it a memorable day for our Buffalo family!
In the fall of their freshman year, students take the "PreACT" to prepare themselves to take the actual ACT when they are juniors. Last year, these now sophomores did an excellent job on the test.
Andi Wegman, Blake Williams, and Emily Wrosch received the "Rising Star" award for their score on the test, while Ava Baxter, Logan Boggs (not pictured), Liam Conley, Cameron Kramer, Ella Krohn, Luke Poell, Emilie Ringel, Joley Sauvage, Korvin VanDonge, and Rhistyn VanDonge received an "Early Scholar" award for their scores on the PreACT.

It was a clean sweep for the high school volleyball team tonight, knocking off Frankfort in the evening's finale to improve to 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in TVL play. The girls now get the next four days off before heading to Frankfort on Saturday morning for their invitational tournament.

This summer, our amazing music teacher didn’t take a break from sharing her passion — she expanded it! Miss Caldwell served as a camp counselor and trumpet instructor at the KU Midwestern Music Camp 🎺💙, and as the Mesa Choral Manager & Assistant Director — plus a member of the faculty band/chorus — at the Salvation Army Three Trails Music Camp 🎵✨.
Her dedication to music and students is inspiring, and we’re so grateful she brings that energy and expertise back to Buffalo Country! 🦬🧡

It's a packed day in Onaga athletics with four fall sports teams in action this afternoon and evening.
The day kicks off at 4:00pm with the cross country and volleyball teams getting underway. The cross country team is on the road this afternoon in Mission Valley, competing in their first meet of the season. The girls will run first, followed by the boys. The volleyball team is at home for the first time and will have six total matches today.
All games will be in the north gym, with the c-team taking on Doniphan West and the JV playing Valley Heights at 4:00pm. At 5:00pm the varsity and JV will both take on Doniphan West, then after an hour break the varsity and c-team will take on Valley Heights around 7:00pm.
