Congratulations to Gavin Kolterman! The junior now has his name at the top of the weight room record board for power cleaning, after cleaning 285 pounds. That is the top mark for anyone in the 198 and over weight class, breaking Tanner Marten's record he set in 2018.
Congratulations on the accomplishment Gavin, and keep up the hard work!

Bus routes will be combined tonight. Jeff's riders will be on either Chad or Tom's bus. We appreciate your flexibility during this busy time of the year. Please contact the school office if your child is not riding the bus tonight.

It was a sweep for the baseball team and a split for the softball team tonight in Onaga. The boys hosted Centralia and won both games in five innings by run rule to push their winning streak to four games. The softball team dropped the first game to the Centralia/Frankfort cooperative, but pulled off the win in game two in exciting fashion. With a 6-2 lead heading into the final inning, the girls gave up six runs in the top of the seventh to fall behind 8-6. But a single by Willow Hochstedler, back-to-back doubles by Ember Conger and Addison DeChant, and a walk by Mackenzie Dorsey tied the game tied up the game with two outs. Then a ball in play by Jadyn Haskin would end up scoring the game-winning run to pull out the 9-8 win.
The boys are next in action on Friday when they head to Frankfort, while the girls have a full week off before hosting Valley Heights next Monday.
Congrats on the wins tonight! GO BUFFALOES!!!

Already the career leader in home runs for the Onaga baseball program entering the season, senior Jackson Kolterman has now climbed atop the career list of three more records less than a third of the way through the year.
In the season opener against Jackson Heights, Jackson passed Zac Fisher (2021-2023) for the career lead in runs scored and has since added to that number. Then, last night in the first at-bat of the second game at Blue Valley he legged out his second triple of the season to edge out Fisher in that category as well. That triple also gave him 97 career hits, tying him with Colby Simkins (2021-2023) for the school record. Then in the top of the fifth, he hit a single to right field that would give him sole possession of the career hits record as well. In addition to Jackson's record-breaking night, fellow senior L.J. Koelzer moved himself into the top five of the career hits list as well.
Congratulations on these accomplishments Jackson, and good luck to the team the rest of the season! GO BUFFALOES!!!

This week, we're taking a moment to celebrate and honor our amazing secondary paraprofessionals during National Para Week! At the secondary level, we have a small but mighty force of paras that assist our students on a daily basis. At the secondary level, paras are asked to provide assistance at a wide range of levels and subjects. They put in a tremendous amount of work to ensure that our students receive all of the supports they need to be successful. Let's give a shout out to our paras: Patty Campbell, Deb Kopp, and Shirley VanDonge!

Our 6th graders got a visit today from Mr. Dennis Droge as he talked about things that students can do to help preserve our native wildlife. He specifically focused on the bluebird and showed the students a video about bluebirds and an example of a bird house designed to help bluebirds make their nests.

🐣 Exciting Happenings in Third Grade! 🐣
Our third graders are egg-cited to announce that they are hatching eggs! 🐥🧡 This hands-on experience is not only a fantastic science lesson but also a chance for our students to witness the magic of new life and growth firsthand.
To ensure the eggs are comfy and cozy, our students are carefully observing data points each day, tracking temperature and humidity to make sure the environment is just right for hatching! 🌡️📊 It's a real-world lesson in responsibility, data collection, and patience.
Stay tuned as we share updates on our little hatchlings as they make their big debut. We can’t wait to see these adorable creatures emerge and continue learning through this amazing hands-on experience! 🐣👀
