USD 322 Statement on the School Bond Vote:
USD 322 Onaga-Havensville-Wheaton would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote on November 5th. The choices we make each election day have a lasting impact on our community and we should never take for granted the right we have to make those choices. While voters chose to not pass the bond issue for the new elementary school, it does not eliminate the dire condition our elementary building is in and the need to replace it.
The district will continue moving forward to do what is best for students and meet the needs of our families. Therefore, the district will promote continued dialog on this project to gain more insight from all stakeholders. We want your voice to be heard, so please be on the lookout for a survey coming in the near future to voice your opinions on the bond issue.
The school is the heartbeat of a small vibrant community, and we need to continue to effectively prepare our students to be successful learners and leaders in the 21st century.

All Onaga art classes created brightly colored stars and hands for our art bulletin board. Check this out in person in the hallway between Mrs. Marten’s and Mr. Koch’s room. Reach for the Stars!

On November 4th, Girls Wrestling State rankings were published and Onaga High School senior Morgan Mayginnes is ranked 1st in of Kansas in her weight class. Congratulations and good luck on the upcoming season!

After the conclusion of the volleyball and football seasons, basketball and wrestling are next up. Junior high teams continue to practice as seen with Maria Krohn(left) and Kylie Venneberg(right) in Girls’ Basketball. Scholars Bowl and Chess have also started recently. Let’s work for successful seasons, go Buffaloes!

The students of Onaga Grade School participated in a vocal concert on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Thanks to Ms. Fitzjarrald and the students for an excellent concert.

The OHS winter sports meeting is tonight in the Auditorium @ 5:45 for student athletes and their parents. If you are unable to attend, please have your student get the form from their coach. Forms must be turned in before the first game, or they will not participate.

Buffer week is this week, and, per KSHSAA Rules, it’s a week of no sports or sports practice. Buffer Week is put in place to make sure kids don’t go in after school to practice basketball or wrestling as an unfair advantage to the teams still in the playoffs.
