With all TVL baseball teams done for the season, the All-League teams were announced last night. Three Buffaloes find themselves on the 1st and 2nd Teams.
Jackson Kolterman was name 1st Team All-League, the first player in league history to be named 1st Team All-League all four years of high school. He led the TVL in 6 of the 11 offensive categories tracked by the league, he finished 2nd in 4 others, and was fourth in the final category among all TVL players. On the mound, he led the league with a 1.13 ERA and also led the league with 88 strikeouts.
Fellow senior L.J. Koelzer was named 2nd Team All-League for the second year in a row. He finished his career in the top 10 of every offensive category in school history, and finished in the top 5 in multiple categories as well. The second baseman/short stop played multiple positions for the Buffaloes over the last two years as a versatile defensive player, and finished his senior year in the top 10 of multiple offensive categories in the TVL as well.
Joining L.J. on the 2nd Team was Casen Hutfles, earning his first All-League designation. The sophomore led the TVL in RBIs this season hitting in the cleanup spot of the order, and those 34 RBIs also were the 8th best in the state of Kansas in 2-1A. He was also one of the primary starters on the mound for the Buffaloes this season, setting the school record for starts in a season. He finished top 10 in the league in strikeouts in 2025.
Congratulations to Jackson, L.J., and Casen on your All-league honors, and on a great season!

Postseason for spring sports continues today with the high school track team competing in their regional meet this afternoon. The team is heading to Royal Valley High School in Hoyt to compete for a chance to go to the state meet next week in Wichita.
Field events begin at 12:30pm this afternoon, while prelims for running events begin at 4:00pm. It will be a long day, as Royal Valley is not only hosting the 1A regional, but will also be simultaneously hosting their own 3A regional. With 28 schools in the 1A meet and another 16 in the 3A meet, plan for events to take longer than usual.
To qualify for state, the top three medalists from each event will punch their ticket. With four total regionals in each classification and 16 spots available in each event at state, that leaves the remaining 4 spots for the top distances or times from all the regionals. We will keep you up to date on all Onaga athletes that qualify for the state meet today.
Good luck to the track team today at regionals! GO BUFFALOES!!!

Summer weights will begin the first Monday in June on the 2nd. This year's times will be the same as last year, but the days have changed. The weight room will be open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with Friday being a "make-up" day for those that missed a day during the week or would like to get a fourth day in. Also, it will be open in the evenings on the main three days for those that can't attend in the morning. As it did last year, sessions will focus on on agility, speed, and strength training.
Don't forget that to attend, student's have to pay a $3 fee for insurance, as is required by the state. If that hasn't been paid already, students can bring that on the first day to Coach Claycamp. If you have any questions about summer weights, please feel free to contact him via email at claycampj@usd322.org.
We look forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks!

The Lady Buffaloes are headed to the softball regional championship!
They will take the field following the conclusion of the Jackson Heights vs. Valley Heights game currently in progress.
Come out and cheer on Onaga as they continue their journey toward the state tournament!
The softball team finishes up regional play today with a chance to go back to the state tournament on the line. The girls entered the tournament as the #1 seed and took care of business in the first round, knocking off #8 Blue Valley 15-0 in just four innings. They now head to the semifinals to take on #4 seeded Doniphan West with a trip to the championship game on the line.
All games today will be played in Onaga and will start 25 minutes following the conclusion of the game prior. Due to the storm yesterday, the final game of the day had to be moved to this afternoon. That means that #2 Jackson Heights will take on #7 Horton to start the day at 12:00pm. Onaga will then get the semifinals going in the second game of the afternoon, before the winner of game one takes on #6 Valley Heights. The winners of the second and third game will then play in the championship for a chance to go to the state tournament next weekend.

🌞 Field Day Fun for the Win! 🏃♀️🎉
What an amazing Field Day under the incredible leadership of Mrs. Boswell! From relay races to water games, our students had a blast celebrating the end of the year with movement, teamwork, and tons of Buffalo spirit. 🧡🖤
A huge shoutout to our high school students who stepped up once again — running stations, encouraging the littles, and modeling what it means to lead with heart.
And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better… the teachers lined up for a sprint race showdown! 🏁💨 Let’s just say the competition was fierce — so fierce, in fact, that a few hamstrings might still be recovering! 😂
Thank you, Mrs. Boswell, and everyone who helped make this day unforgettable!

⚾️ Big Kids, Big Hearts! 🧡🖤
A few of our high school baseball players stepped off the field and into Miss K’s 5th grade classroom to share some baseball skills and life lessons with our younger Buffaloes!
From throwing tips to teamwork talks, our athletes were patient, encouraging, and full of Buffalo pride. It was a great reminder that leadership doesn’t just happen under the lights — it starts in the classroom, in the hallways, and in moments just like this. 💪
Huge thanks to our high school players for being such positive role models!
