Just a couple of days removed from the TVL Tournament, the high school teams are back home for a non-league matchup this evening against Wabaunsee. Action gets underway at 4:45pm with JV girls in the north gym, and following that it'll be varsity girls in the north gym and JV boys in the south gym. The Brackets for the 2025 OTL Basketball Tournament are here! Our boys start off with a bye courtesy of being the #2 seed in their bracket. They will play their first game next Monday (2/3) against the winner of Frankfort and Axtell. The girls are the #4 seed and will start their tournament play this Thursday (1/30) against #5 Frankfort at 6:00 in the North Gym. Come out and support our Buffaloes as they work to try and bring home an OTL Championship on our home court!

The junior high boys notched their 11th win in a row, knocking off Sts. Peter & Paul tonight in the final regular season game of the year. They now turn their attention to the postseason, with the Oregon Trail League tournament beginning on Thursday. Brackets for both the girls and boys will be released Tuesday morning. The junior high basketball teams are set to host Sts. Peter & Paul tonight, and though they still have the league tournament coming up which will be played in Onaga, tonight will be the final regular season junior high game for 11 eighth graders. Games start at 6:00pm with A-team girls in the north gym and B-team boys in the south gym. When those games finish, it'll be the A-team boys in the north gym and B-team girls in the south. It's a big week for activities with the junior high basketball teams kicking off their league tournament, high school scholars bowl competing in the league meet, and the high school's Winter Royalty. Here is the schedule for the upcoming week!

The high school girls wrapped up the TVL Tournament with a win over Frankfort this morning, knocking off the Wildcats on their home court. Yesterday it was the boys wrestling and basketball teams in action, today it's the girls turn. The girls wrestling team is in Council Grove today for their invitational, and wrestling got underway this morning at 9:00am. Meanwhile, the girls basketball team is in Frankfort for the final day of the TVL Tournament and are taking on the host Wildcats in the opening game of the day at 10:00am. The wrestling team has been in Council Grove the last two days, with the boys competing yesterday afternoon and the girls this morning. It was another successful day, with four Buffaloes coming away with top three finishes. The team now gets a week off before heading to Atchison next Saturday morning. Two high school teams are on the road today, as the boys wrestling and basketball teams end their week of events. The wrestlers are in Council Grove and got underway this afternoon. They will wrap things up today, then the girls will head there tomorrow for their meet which begins at 9:00am. The boys basketball team is at Frankfort today for their final game of the TVL Tournament. After beating Washington County 68-52 last night, they'll take on Valley Heights at 4:30pm this afternoon looking to win two in a row heading into the last half of their season. The girls are off today, but will finish up their tournament tomorrow morning at 10:00am against the host Wildcats. It was a clean sweep tonight for the junior high basketball teams in their final road game of the season at Flint Hills Christian. They have one regular season game remaining, a home matchup against Sts. Peter & Paul next Monday. The OTL tournament then begins Thursday, January 30th. The junior high basketball teams are hitting the road for the final time this season, playing Flint Hills Christian in their final non-league game of the season as well. All games will be played in the same gym, with B-team boys kicking things off at 4:00pm, A-team girls to follow, and A-team boys to wrap up the night. It's an action-packed weekend for the high school teams, as all three hit the road today. The wrestling team is at St. Marys for a tournament that will host nearly 20 teams. Wrestling gets underway at 8:30am this morning. For the basketball teams, the TVL tournament kicks off today with Frankfort hosting this year's eight-day long event. The boys will play first today, entering the tournament as the #9 seed. They will take on #8 seed Doniphan West at 11:30am in the secondary gym. The girls will follow in the same gym around 1:00pm.
