We are pleased to have been able to find a way to offer drivers education to Onaga students this summer after finding out we would not be able to partner with USD 113- Sabetha as we have done in the past. We have partnered with the Greenbush Education Service Center who will provide an online drivers education program along with an online teacher, Mr. James King. We are fortunate to have a teacher who is certified for drivers education and will provide all of the in-car driving instruction, Mr. Jeff Koch. There will be many more details shared as we move forward, but for today, here are the most important ones you need to be aware of. Eligibility- students must be 14 by June 12 and entering 9th grade in the fall. Tuition- the cost will be $205 and must be paid in full by June 12. Enrollment is not complete until this is paid. Make checks payable to USD 322. Checks can be turned in to the USD 322 District Office to Ann Hermreck (closed on Fridays) June 12 is the last day to enroll and pay for tuition. Once the student has submitted the necessary information to Mr. Poell via email(name, date of birth, email address and a contact phone number) and has paid in full at the district office with Ann Hermreck, I will share this with Greenbush and they will complete the enrollment process for the individual student. As soon as the online course enrollment steps have been completed for the student, they will be able to get started with the online course and their teacher, Mr. King. Students will have up to 4 weeks to complete the course but it can be completed in less than 4 weeks depending on their rate of completion of work. They may start as soon as their enrollment is finalized. At this point in time, the first day for in-car driving looks to be on July 1. If this changes, students and parents will be notified. We will have to take safety precautions for this part of drivers ed instruction and will share those out once they have been finalized. Please be proactive in following the enrollment steps as quickly as you can so you can begin your online courses as soon as possible. There will need to be flexibility with driving times in July knowing that Mr. Koch, in addition to being the in-car instructor, also farms and will have wheat harvest at some point, but the driving portion will get completed. Thanks for your understanding on this ahead of time. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at this point. Thank you. Mr. Ty Poell Principal poellt@usd322.org

As the school year winds to a close today, we want to thank all of our students, parents, cooks, custodians, drivers, teachers, office managers, and paras for making the best out of a difficult situation that arose over spring break. We appreciate the fact that everyone did their very best while dealing with many stressors. Parents that were put in the role as teachers- we appreciate all you did to support your kids as best you could. You're amazing! Thank you to everyone for your patience, grace, understanding, and flexibility. We all are hopeful that we will be able to be back in the school come August, but as you know, there are still a number of unknowns out there right now. Regardless, we will be prepared for all scenarios of teaching and learning and keep in communication with you as much as possible to provide accurate and timely information. Please keep safe this summer and take care!

Here are our tentative plans for student checkout. All items (computers, textbooks) need to be brought back to school in trash bags from home. Student checkout will run from June 2- June 4. 7th-12th graders will have designated times (will be communicated shortly) according to their class and will return computers and books to the Commons area. They will go through a checkout list procedure at this time to ensure everything has been returned and have the opportunity to make any payments (lunch, class dues, etc) at this time as well. Elementary students will have designated time slots per family (like we did in March) to enter the west main entrance where there will be tables set up for students to return books and computers. Mrs. Utley will be setting these up with families. Each elementary teacher will have a checklist for their respective class that we will utilize during the process to ensure we get everything back that is needed. Parents will have the opportunity at this time to pay any bills as well.
