
Congratulations to Bridgett Campbell! The junior softball player for Onaga was named MSC Sports "Player of the Week" today. She leads the team in stolen bases, and is top three in every major offensive statistical category. In the circle, she has been dominant on her way to a 2-0 record. In the process, she has yet to allow a run, while striking out 11 and walking just 1.

Due to the weather over the weekend, combined with the predicted weather tomorrow, the baseball game against Doniphan West/Riverside and the softball game against Riverside that were both supposed to be played in Onaga tomorrow, have been cancelled. There is no makeup date at this time, but if/when one is decided upon, we will release that as well.
The baseball team is next in action on Thursday when they host Jackson Heights, the softball team has a JV game at Nemaha Central on Friday and the varsity team will host Oskaloosa on Monday.

We have a 4-day week coming up with Easter just around the corner. Here are the activities for the week!


It's a clean sweep for the Buffaloes! The baseball and softball teams hosted Wabaunsee tonight, and both came away 2-0 on the night against the Chargers. The boys got back in the win column with two run-rule games, winning the first one 13-3 and the second one 17-2. Meanwhile, the girls came out on top in a couple of dogfights. They won the first one 11-7, then pulled off a comeback win in the second game, erasing an 8-4 deficit in the fifth inning to win 15-8. The kept them undefeated on the season, at 4-0.

USD 322 is proud to present the next superintendent, Dr. Cathi Wilson! She will take her post July 1.
Dr. Wilson shares, "I am excited about the opportunity to join the USD 322 District and look forward to working with everyone to foster community and school pride."


USD 322 Welcomes our second Superintendent Candidate, Catherine Wilson.
Cathi Wilson is currently serving as the superintendent and 7-12 principal with USD 358 Oxford Public Schools. She has been with the district for eight years. She has also taught and coached at the middle school level, along with being an Athletic Director and elementary principal. Her educational history includes a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education Leadership from Wichita State University, District Level Certification from Fort Hays State University and a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Wichita State University.
Dr. Wilson states, "As a school leader, establishing a supportive culture is essential to the success of any school district. Building relationships is fundamental to this endeavor, listening and getting to know people as individuals is vital. Being active and visible in the school and community demonstrates dedication. Being approachable to everyone allows for honest communication and leads to a strong culture of success.”

It's a sweep! The Onaga softball team got their season off to a great start, run-ruling league foe Doniphan West in both games of their double-header today. The Buffaloes won the first game 13-3 in five innings, then 15-0 in three innings. They now look to their next game against Wabaunsee, who they host in a double-header on Friday.

The softball season gets officially underway this evening, as the girls are set to host Doniphan West in a TVL double-header. The two teams will play in Onaga with first pitch beginning at 4:30pm. USD 322 Welcomes our first Superintendent Candidate, Rhonda Frakes.
Rhonda has been the 9-12 principal at USD 340 Jefferson West High School since 2008. She was previously the athletic director for two years, taught physical education and psychology instructor, and coach for 15 years at USD 340. Mrs. Frakes received her Bachelor of Science degree from Emporia State University, a District Leadership Certificate from Washburn University, and a District Leadership Certificate from Emporia State University.
Frakes shares, “To build a collaborative culture, you must provide opportunities for stakeholders to share and be an integral part of making decisions. Transparency and input are essential in decisions about the vision and core values of the district. If stakeholders have a role in developing these driving forces, they have buy-in and will hold themselves and others more accountable.”

The teams will play a double-header, with first pitch from the friendly confines of Grover Eddy Field set for 4:30pm. Spring break is coming to an end as we head into the final leg of the school year. With that, spring sports begin competition over the next two weeks. Golf and track have another week of practice, but baseball and softball get rolling tomorrow and Tuesday. Here are the activities for the week!

USD 322 will be interviewing candidates for superintendent March 19-20. The Board of Education welcomes community patrons and staff to meet the candidates at 3:30pm in the USD 322 Library. This is an excellent time to learn about the candidate's educational leadership experiences and to ask questions about their plans for guiding USD 322 into the future.


Mr. Figge's Agricultural Communications class is back for another edition of "Quacked!" Their fundraiser for the Pottowatomie/Wabunsee County Library's Onaga branch continues, with the class of 2024 pledging to match the raised money. This week, the class did some more "Quacking" at the school for a great cause!

Wadsworth, the butler, leads Mrs. Peacock, Mr. Green, Colonel Mustard, and other guests to attempt to find the killer as the body count builds. Following in the footsteps of the film, the project bills itself as a “comedy whodunit.”
