The high school cross country team hosted their invitational yesterday, and despite the wet conditions, had their best meet of the young season. Each runner for Onaga bested their personal record in the event that featured 47 total runners.

Sophomore Jesse Miller led the team with a 17th place finish and bested his personal best by 36 seconds. Fellow sophomore Korvin VanDonge wasn't far behind in 21st place and recorded his best time by 1 minute, 8 seconds. Freshman Zabel Collins finished third on the team in 26th with a personal record by 2 seconds. Sophomore Darius Moser topped his best mark by 1 minute, 1 second and finished in 31st, while junior Maddex Honas bet his top mark by 1 minute, 3 seconds for a 36th place finish. Freshman Brayden Bean finished 40th with a best mark by 1 minute, 9 seconds. Junior Tristan Kuhlman (43rd) had the most improved time with a personal record 2 minutes and 40 seconds faster than his previous mark, while fellow junior Casen Hutfles (45th) beat his by 16 seconds.

It was an overall great day for the team, and shows the improvement made so far under the direction of head coach Alex Miller. The team is next in action on Thursday when they head to Nemaha Central.
