Onaga's Zac Fisher is featured this week as the MSC Sports area "Athlete of the Week." The senior baseball player was named 1st Team All-League as both a sophomore and junior, and was named Honorable Mention All-State as a sophomore, then 3rd Team All-State as a third baseman his junior season. This season, his hitting numbers are top ten in the state in almost every category, and his pitching stats are some of the best in Kansas as well.
The "Athlete of the Week" honor comes on the heals of Zac helping the Buffaloes to a sweep of Jackson Heights last week with scores of 14-4 and 15-0. Zac pitched the second game of the double-header, and for the second time this season he was one hit away from a perfect game on the mound. He is 6-0 on the season as a starter, tied for the best record in Kansas. His 1.15 ERA and 55 strikeouts to just 5 walks are some of the best numbers in class 2-1A.
