2018 Caring Community Foundation Scholarships

The Caring Community Foundation has two scholarships that Onaga High School Seniors can apply for using the same application.  Please review teh criteria below for eligibility before completing the application.

Application Process:  Complete the Caring Community General Application and include 2 letters of recommendation and essay to the Onaga School Counselor by March 29.

 

CARING COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WALTER BYERS SCHOLARSHIP FUND SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT SELECTION CRITERIA

            At least one scholarship recipient shall be selected at the end of each school year.

The recipient shall be a graduate from a high school in Jackson, Nemaha, Pottawatomie or Marshall Counties in Kansas.

The recipient shall have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 point scale, for their high school career.

The recipient shall have been a Kansas resident for at least four years prior to receipt of the scholarship.

The annual scholarship amount to be awarded shall be $500.00.

The scholarship must be used for, and will be paid directly to, any accredited college or university in the United States.

Special consideration will be given to students with financial needs.

A standard application form above and process, used by the local high school, amended if deemed necessary by the CCF, shall be completed by each applicant. The high school committee shall recommend a recipient to the CCF by dates posted each year.  Due to School Counselor by March 29th. 

 Be sure to include if you have a Financial Need. 

 

Community Hospital, District No. 1 Auxiliary Scholarship

The Auxiliary Scholarship has its origins in decades of support for local healthcare. Community Hospital, District No. 1 was formed with the support of many in 1955. The Auxiliary was formed later and was very active for many years. The legacy of the Auxiliary is this renewable scholarship, which is offered to residents of the hospital district who are pursuing a college degree or vocational program in a medical field. 

A standard application form above and process, used by the local high school, amended if deemed necessary by the CCF, shall be completed by each applicant. .  Due to School Counselor by March 29th.
