The Onaga FFA has already been off to a busy start so far this school year. Officers have been meeting once a week before school to get everything organized. The chapter plans on attending the National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana again this year, which is October 24-27. Mr. Figge and a Sue Ahlquist will act as sponsors and take around 11 students who have earned a sufficient amount of points by participating last year. Also, The Greenhands attended the district Greenhand Conference at Rossville on September 18. While they were there, they met state officers, attended workshops put on by district officers, and learned the basic history of the FFA and a little bit about what will be expected of them as FFA members. Chapter officers put together an idea for a chapter t-shirt and have ordered those, in hopes of having them before they go to National Convention. At the chapter meeting, dues for the 2007-2008 school year were set and are expected to be paid by September 20 in order to be guaranteed a chapter t-shirt. The FFA also discussed the tailgate meal they served on the 31st of August and the JV football concession stand they worked September 10.
