Lego Club Members Designs Future Bridge
For the February Onaga Elementary School Lego Club, the members were challenged to create a bridge made of Legos. The specifications of the bridge were that the bridge was between twelve and fifteen inches long, between four and six inches wide, and must be suspended at least six inches off the ground at some point in the design. Once the bridges were constructed, they were evaluated for their engineering concepts and meeting of the specifications by Civil Engineer Nathan Bergman, P.E., PTOE, who works for Bartlette & West Engineering Firm out of Manhattan, Kansas. He is a 1993 graduate of Onaga High School and a 1998 graduate of Kansas State University, College of Engineering.
The winning design was constructed by Tess Fairbanks, Jordan Sunderland, and Dakota Boren. Second place design went to Blake Wesley and third place to Peyton Wright, Dylan Brunkow, and Cheyenne Brunkow.
