The Onaga Junior High Art Class wanted to use their talents to help others. So the students learned how to crochet at the beginning of January and began to make nine-inch squares that would be sewn into lap blankets. The VA Hospital in Topeka was chosen to receive the blankets. The students made over 100 squares. The students pieced the squares together to make five blankets. After completing the blankets the students are now crocheting accessories such as hats, scarves, bags and pouches for themselves or family members. Photo by Dea Graf, Art Teacher.
