OGS Reading Challenge

OGS Builds a Bookworm!

by Lisa Trostle

August 24, 2009

Students at OGS have been challenged to build a bookworm. If students successfully complete the challenge they will have the opportunity to have Ms. Trostle do something “outrageous.” Students will have the chance to come up with ideas and vote on the ideas of what to have Ms. Trostle do.

For each book a student reads they will complete a piece of the bookworm. Students in grades 2 to 6 will need to include their name, title of the book, and the number of pages read on their bookworm pieces. Students in kindergarten and first will only need to write their name and the name of the book that they read. We will continue to add to the bookworm all year.
The top reader from every classroom will receive an award. The classroom that reads the most pages will also receive an award. The challenge will continue all school year, culminating in the “crazy” event that Ms. Trostle will complete.
