Macbeth Review
“Double, double, toil and trouble; Fire burn and caldron bubble.” This quote is by the witches from Shakespeare’s famous play, Macbeth. Ms. Clark’s Exploration of Literature class went to this play on the 29th of April, at the Topeka Civics Theater.
Going to the play at the theater made Macbeth easier to understand for us. Having live actors perform in front of you makes things a lot easier to interpret. Before going to see the play live we studied Macbeth in literature class. Some of the language was very difficult to understand but hearing it when actors/actresses say it makes it easier to comprehend.
Once we watched the play we realized the true effort that goes into a play and we saw the emotions of the characters that weren’t expressed when we were listening to and reading it. Studying Shakespeare’s play opened up a new realm of English literature for us. We really enjoyed the experience, and it would be a great opportunity for others to see and hear.
